In the Middle of a Soaker

The road less traveled is muddy today and we are smiling. It started raining, a gentle persistent rain and it has not stopped.
The harvest is finished, so in GriggsDakota, we are smiling.
We have not had a general rain this year, just showers. Everything looks happy to me, because it is able to drink in the rain.
Some of the usually soggy corners have water standing in the furrows.
There is a new wire around fields near the pasture.
This gives the cattle room to roam and a choice of munchies. This fence encircles both barley and corn fields.
For now, most are content to stay close to the shelter of the trees which is out of the wind.
They don't see;m to mind the rain anymore than I do, which is not at all, even though they are living out in the elements.
The rain itself is our pot of gold in GriggsDakota.
