July Farmer Fred Award Runner-Up: Flowery Ditches: Tiger Lilies

Tiger lilies don't bloom in abundance around here every year. It needs to be damp, but not standing water. They are fussy about heat and light. Sometimes they come and go so quickly that we hardly notice. That was not the case this year when the tiger lilies showed up in abundance bringing beauty and happy memories to many in GriggsDakota. The lilies are among the most beautiful wild flowers. This year their show was inspiring.
