The edible beans this year are black beans and Farmer Fred went out to check their progress.
Two weeks ago we had a rain.
The black bean plants were small.
The progress was so far behind average that we wondered if the black beans would ever catch up.
What a difference two weeks can make!
The beans have grown and have begun to blossom.
Their beautiful blossoms are plentiful.
If conditions are right, the blossoms will produce beans.
That has already begun to happen on some plants in the field where we found several bean pods forming.
The cross seeding of the headlands caught my eye. We could play a giant game of tic-tac-toe in GriggsDakota.
