Early on many mornings this Summer, we watch pelicans eating their breakfast. We hope that they eat up all the salamanders and frogs.
Although it is a beautiful Summer, the crops have not really caught up from their late start.
The weather has been generally cool, so any day in the high seventies or warmer, feels like a scorcher.
The fields have dried out from a very wet start.
We have had a band of brothers hanging around the lake.
These are young unmated male pelicans.
They feed and fly.
They are awkward and majestic in their movements.
In the evenings, there are geese.
I assume that during the day they are feeding on a nearby field.
In the evening they are relaxing on the lake in GriggsDakota.
