Last Year's Barley Hits the Road

It is time to get the last of the 2013 crop off the farm. We are hauling the last of our contracted barley to the nearest Busch elevator.
We have been storing the barley for Summer delivery. This is malting barley and it makes sense that they need a steady flow of barley for year round brewing.
From the steel grain storage bin, we load the grain carts.
From the grain carts we fill the trucks. This truck pulls a pup trailer which allows it to haul a load as large as most semi-trailer trucks.
When this hauling is finished and the bins are cleaned out, we will be ready to store our 2014 crop.
As the cool Summer days continue in GriggsDakota.
