Cattle Eating in the Rain

 It's raining again in GriggsDakota.
The area weather forecasters are trying to make us feel good about the rain by pointing out how close we are to areas of snow.
We can all agree that in May, rain is preferable.
It is wet.
It is not freezing cold.
All field work is at a stand still once again.
Except, of course, for feeding the cattle.
Prince guards the gate.
 Cattleman Jim delivers the bales.
These calves are old enough to eat a little hay.

The cows are always looking for more.
The arrival of a fresh bale causes some to give up their prime spot and turn toward the new delivery.
The cattle look contented in the rain.
But we all could use some sunshine in GriggsDakota.
