The Morning After

Oh what a difference a few hours can make.
Especially when we are talking about the weather.
The geese settled down on a beautiful Fall evening.
Everything looked very different on the morning after.
Though we received just a dusting of snow, the season has changed for the wild geese.
By afternoon the snow on the lake had not melted.
The sloughs, where the water ponds, but does not flow, were all frozen over. No ducks or geese will swim on them until the Spring thaw.
Canada geese don't seem to mind the icy surface, but when there is no more water, they will leave.
As Winter creeps ever closer to GriggsDakota.
