Today the Farm Inspector and the Ag Analyst are experiencing the joy of unlimited flowers.
A garden can bring unlimited joy in August.
We received a grant that began the funding for The Aneta Community Orchard and Gardens. If you click on the link, you will find part one of a three part explanation of how this delightful place came to be.
Last Spring we started a garden in the plots.
Now we are enjoying blooms from the garden.
There are delicate blooms.
Multicolored beauties and sturdy favorites.
It took me back to my childhood when everyone had a flower garden.
There are enough flowers to pick an unlimited amount, stuff them into cereal bowls and water glasses, and then go off to play. There are so many that the ones we picked will not be missed. There will be more and more blooms until it freezes.
In a land filled with luxuries, it is perhaps the finest luxury.
Unlimited flowers, ready for picking.
Oh yes, the boring vegetables are doing well, too. We have unlimited peas, beans, onions, cucumbers, zucchini and more. Soon we will have tomatoes, peppers, beets, corn, and other stuff, but compared to flowers, who cares?
Today we had flowers to play with and flowers to share.
We are proud of our community and our ability to work together in GriggsDakota.
