In the Ground, Seed and Rocks

The last piece of ground was seeded to Soybeans last Thursday.
On Sunday afternoon, Farmer Fred rolled the last of the rocks into the ground.
We planted past the June 10th insurance date by a few days. Many things about this Spring did not turn out the way we had planned. However, we are still optimistic that the growing season will be productive.
We are on the edge of the area that was able to finish. Just a few miles North are farms that are not planted.
Planted is always better. It means that the land will be managed in the best possible manner. If fields cannot be seeded in a timely fashion, they still must be managed to control weeds and protect soil. It is a frustration for farmers that leads to headaches.
Now we will watch how the season plays out in GriggsDakota.
