Chokecherry Blossoms

There is something reassuring about coming across chokecherry trees in bloom.
I feel a kinship, because they clearly want to be here.
The grow in unlikely spots, such as ditches and fence lines, where a bird has dropped a berry and it just had to grow.
Every little blossom carries the potential for a chokecherry with a seed inside which could mean another chokecherry bush. Visit the link to learn more about chokecherries.
But more likely, the chokecherry carries the potential for delicious jelly and syrup.
 It's our favorite in GriggsDakota.

  1. What does a choke berry look like? and...if we could find them here in TX, want to share your recipe for that lovely jar of jelly? :)
