September Farmer Fred Award Runners Up

The Summer was dry and hot. Somehow the corn came through despite the weather. The corn dried down without having to go through the grain dryer. Of course, this story is a winner.

It is easier for me to connect with readers about Pinto Beans than any other crop we raise. Pinto Beans are straight forward and ready to cook when we haul them off the field. Our crops are made into common items such as pasta, bread, beer, healthy oil, livestock and pet foods, and more. Pinto beans can look pretty much the same on the plate as they do in the truck box. If the truck that is hauling them is Old Red, it turns into a favorite.
