The Park is Empty Now

One old sign has been repainted. The other is probably gone forever, but it didn't matter at all. We know that this area must be left open to service a meal for three thousand people.
And now the park is quiet again.
All the tickets to the 2012 barbecue have been sold.
 The prices were reasonable.
The weekend held the threat of rain. The garden couple were happy to have their umbrella.
There were tarps set up over the turkey spit as the cooking began in the morning.
But the sky cleared off and we all ate turkey.
The turkeys have been removed from the rods that turned slowly through the day on Saturday.
The prongs will be steam cleaned and saved for next year.
The bricks will be hauled away. The trees, which shed a few leaves in the smoke and heat, will again breathe fresh air.
The ticket takers have finished their job. Everyone has gone home.
The cleanup crew will put away all the things that turn our beautiful park into a fitting spot for a festival.
Now that the coffee pot is empty.
We will turn our attention to the long days of Summer in GriggsDakota.
