The bees were busy on Saturday.
And so was everyone in GriggsDakota.
Robbie planted our final field of the season to pinto beans. The well chopped surface trash gives a brown appearance to our black field.
It makes it easy to see the wet spots. Although the Spring has been late and wet, we are happy to report that we were able to plant about 90% of the ground in GriggsDakota.
As Robbie approaches the wet area
He lifts up
And heads back up the hill. It will make for interesting rounds to follow at harvest.
Seeds in the ground give us a chance to harvest a crop. We feel lucky to be finished seeding. There were many days when we doubted that we would be able to seed this much of the farm.
The farming season will be compressed this year. The weather will need to provide some heat units. We will continually be a bit behind, because of the late Spring.
It will keep us busy as bees all Summer long in GriggsDakota.
