The song of a Meadowlark, The bite of a Lemon

When Farmer Fred was young, he was fascinated by the Harlem Globetrotter star,
Meadowlark Lemon. Mr. Lemon was the consummate basketball prankster and trick scorer.
So when he heard that YesSir Mike was going to play the remnants of that former glory team known now as the "Harlem All Stars", Farmer Fred wanted to be in the crowd. It was a fundraiser for a good cause and he had never seen YesSir Mike on the basketball court.
What he didn't expect was the opportunity to see Meadowlark Lemon take the court.
Thousands of basketball fans came out to see the 78 year young Meadowlark take to the court with his young all stars. There were pranks, tricks, and comedy. Laughter prevailed for a couple of hours in the gymnasium on a cold winter afternoon.
(Side note:  Beware of any basketball team that brings their own referee)
YesSir Mike guarded Meadowlark Lemon.
Second side note:  Don't lip off to the player wearing a microphone on the court.
Though the local team lost, of course, a good time was had by all. Farmer Fred bought Meadowlark Lemon's book but there were so many folks lined up for an autograph that he decided not to wait around for hours in order to have it signed. It is said that fame is fleeting, but not if you are Meadowlark Lemon.
