The beautiful green of summer is fading in GriggsDakota.
Today brings October.
We have had enough rain to bring up mushrooms.
There's plenty of fresh green on the ground for the cattle to enjoy.
But the season is changing.
When I was in elementary school, I learned a song:
"October called her messenger
The frisky, playful breeze
Come here at once for you must take
My message to the trees.
Breeze flew into the nearest tree
Shook the leaves down carefully.
"Sleep," she said, "Don't raise your head"
"Till Spring's first balmy breeze."
The leaves are leaving GriggsDakota.
