Early this week these cattle had the joy of going out to pasture. On this pasture we use cell grazing. The pasture is divided and the cattle graze only a portion of the pasture for a few weeks, then are moved to a fresh area.
Noses down, these cows are enjoying the fresh spring grass. Although it is early in the season and the grass is not tall yet, the short duration of their stay will protect the pasture from overgrazing.
Calves are resting in the valley. These nursing calves will learn to eat grass and later feed from a creep feeder over the summer.
Happy cows in GriggsDakota.
