In GriggsDakota there is frost on the pumpkin in October every year, but today we have snow on the pumpkins.
And snow on the strawberries.
There is snow on the tractor while it waits to help finish the harvest.
Snow is accumulating on the top of the grain bins.
Snow is flying by as the trees shiver their leaves to the ground.
The snow flurries come from a gray October sky.
The lake has begun to freeze over. I like to reassure others that October snow always melts in GriggsDakota. Winter in October is always a false start. I have been wrong once or twice.
Today it feels like there is a long snowy road ahead of us.
We are not anxious to rush the season.
